Playmaker's EFL 72: #72-#62

The end of the 2023/24 Championship, League One and League Two campaigns looms on the horizon and there is still all to play for with fascinating promotion and relegation battles unfolding across 'The 72'. 

Although Playmaker are unable to peer through the mists of time to divine the heroes (and villains!) who will define the remainder of the campaign, we have seen enough to start our annual countdown of the EFL's best performers. 

It's always a gargantuan undertaking and, as ever, we are aware that subjectively ranking players across three different divisions brings elements of confusion and potential controversy to the table.

However, we're keen to step into the breach and embrace the chaos! 

Just to clarify, our '72' is less a roll call of the best footballers in the EFL and more a tribute to those players who have enjoyed the most memorable seasons and racked up the most impressive stats.
