Manchester United had to fight back twice to secure a 4-2 victory over bottom-placed Sheffield United at Old Trafford.
The game started with a chance for Manchester United as Diogo Dalot's long-range shot was tipped over the bar by Wes Foderingham within the first 30 seconds.
Alejandro Garnacho also had an opportunity to score but couldn't find the net from close range.
Despite dominating the first half, the Red Devils found themselves trailing 1-0 just before half-time due to a mistake by Andre Onana, which allowed Jayden Bogle to score.
However, the hosts managed to level before half-time when Harry Maguire headed in Garnacho's cross.
Just five minutes into the second half, Sheffield Utd went ahead again through Ben Brereton Diaz, but Erik ten Hag's men responded 10 minutes later with a penalty converted by Bruno Fernandes after Aaron Trusty fouled Maguire in the box.
With the game tied, Man Utd pushed for a winner, and Fernandes delivered with a brilliant left-footed strike from outside the box to put his team ahead with 81 minutes on the clock.
The Portuguese midfielder then assisted Rasmus Hojlund's goal five minutes from time to seal the victory for Manchester United.
The win has propelled them to sixth place in the Premier League table, putting them three points ahead of Newcastle, who have dropped to seventh following a 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, Chris Wilder's side remain firmly at the bottom of the table, 10 points from safety with only four matches to play.
