Tottenham Hotspur secured their spot in the FA Cup fourth round with a 1-0 victory against Burnley on Friday night.
Both teams started the game with high intensity, with Tottenham putting pressure on Burnley's defence. Richarlison had a near miss, and Arijanet Muric made a smart save from Brennan Johnson's curling effort.
Despite Spurs dominating possession and energetically pressing Burnley, the visitors almost took the lead against the run of play when Zeki Amdouni missed a chance.
Although Ange Postecoglou's team had around 70% of the ball in the first half, their attacking efforts dwindled after some early opportunities, and Muric wasn't overly tested.
As frustration grew among the home fans, Spurs struggled to break through the Clarets' deep defence, resorting to long-range attempts that didn't trouble Muric. Destiny Udogie set up Johnson for a volley, but it was comfortably saved.
Spurs finally found the breakthrough with a spectacular strike from Pedro Porro, who won possession and unleashed a powerful shot into the top corner of Muric's net with 11 minutes left.
Despite a late chance missed by Richarlison, Burnley's best opportunity came from a corner in the 97th minute. Muric, moving forward, headed the ball to Amdouni in the six-yard box, but the striker couldn't control his effort and sliced wide from close range.
