According to self-proclaimed football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, it is now just a matter of time before Olivier Giroud completes his move to Los Angeles FC.

It was reported last month that the AC Milan forward is going to join Major League Soccer on a free transfer on a contract until December 2025 and will join LAFC this summer after the expiration of his Rossoneri contract.

37-year-old Giroud will join his compatriot and former France teammate Hugo Lloris in California as well as the likes of Maxime Cahanot, Kei Kamara and Denis Bouanga under the management of Steve Cherundolo.

Experienced striker Giroud, who has had a successful career with the likes of Grenoble, Istres, Tours, Montpellier Herault, Arsenal, Chelsea and Milan. He has scored 282 goals in 689 appearances at club level and has won Ligue 1, Serie A, four FA Cups, three Community Shields, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League

Internationally, Giroud has represented the French national team 131 times with 57 goals scored. He was a key part of the team that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2021 UEFA Nations League as well as reaching the finals of both the 2022 FIFA World Cup and UEFA EURO 2016.

He is expected to announce his international retirement at the end of this summer’s UEFA EURO 2024 campaign in Germany before moving to the United States.

Wow, what a move for Giroud! He's had an incredible career and I have no doubt he'll continue to shine for LAFC. Excited to see him team up with Lloris and the rest of the squad under Cherundolo's management. Best of luck, Oli!

As a football fan, I am excited to see Giroud make the move to Los Angeles FC. He has had an impressive career with various top clubs in Europe and I am sure he will bring his experience and skills to the team. It will also be great to see him reunite with former teammate Hugo Lloris. I have no doubt that Giroud will make a positive impact on the team and I can't wait to see him play in Major League Soccer.
