Lionel Messi made history in MLS with an extraordinary performance during Inter Miami CF's commanding 6-2 win over the New York Red Bulls at Chase Stadium in Florida.
After Inter Miami trailed 1-0 at half-time, Messi orchestrated a remarkable comeback in the second half by providing five assists, setting a new MLS record.
Alongside his assists, Messi also found the back of the net himself, tallying his 10th goal of the season.
Remarkably, three of Messi's assists were converted by Luis Suarez, who secured his first hat-trick for Inter Miami. The remaining two assists were delivered to Matias Rojas, who made a memorable impact with two goals in only his second appearance for the club.
Messi's five assists makes him the first player in MLS history to achieve such a milestone in a single game.
Additionally, his six goal contributions in the match set a new record for the most in a single MLS game.
